THE FOUNDATION & CHARITABLE GIVING

Annual Giving 2011 - 2012
Building for the Future

Dear Friends,

For nearly 100 years, Springfield Hospital has been a place "where people come first”  - where patients want to receive care, clinicians want to practice medicine, and employees want to work. Springfield Hospital also consistently scores among the top 10% of hospitals in the nation and the highest among Vermont hospitals in quality care measures.

To continue to excel in meeting individual and community healthcare needs, Springfield Hospital is “Building for the Future” by consolidating its inpatient care on one floor.  Level D at the hospital will be expanded to allow the current Medical Surgical Unit on Level C to join the Intensive Care and Childbirth Units.  This new combined inpatient care area – with private rooms - will provide patients and their families with the privacy and comfort they expect and deserve.

Your support of this project will help ensure that your family, friends, and neighbors will receive the highest quality care in the most up-to-date inpatient facility.

Your gift will both honor our hospital’s first century of commitment to quality care and also lay the cornerstone for its success in the next era of healthcare.

Thank you for your help.

Mission
The mission of The Foundation is to help Springfield Medical Care Systems:

•  Fulfill its mission;
•  Maintain its special character, with enough resources to provide the best possible health care in the best possible way — up close and personal; and
•  Respond to the uncertainties of the health care field.

A Gift Can...
•  Honor a family member or caregiver or commemorate an event.
•  Purchase equipment or create a program.
•  Be in time, energy, and effort -- in service (see Volunteer Opportunities) or in celebration (our Apple Blossom Cotillion or other special  events).
•  Be a direct gift of cash or securities through our Annual Giving.
•  Be a "planned gift" through a bequest, trust, or annuity.
•  Because of charitable tax deductions, you can help yourself when you help Springfield Hospital. Some gifts, such as annuities, also provide you with income.
