Chester Family Medicine Welcomes Sarah Kemble, MD, MPH

CHESTER, VT - Springfield Medical Care Systems is pleased to announce Sarah Kemble, MD, MPH, has joined Chester Family Medicine in Chester, VT.
Dr. Kemble studied Philosophy at Smith College in Northampton, MA, and received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her General Internal Medicine residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and her General Preventive Medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. She obtained her Masters in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Policy and Management, at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.
Dr. Kemble is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in General Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Kemble founded the Community Health Center of Franklin County in Turners Falls, MA, and served in several administrative roles including Executive Director, Medical Director, and Chief Quality Officer, while always providing patient care as a practicing primary care practitioner at various sites throughout her time there. Her scope of practice includes primary and preventive care for adolescents and adults of all ages, including routine office gynecologic care. Prior to medical school, Dr. Kemble worked as a counselor in the substance abuse field for several years, and she enjoys supporting patients in recovery.
Dr. Kemble is the recipient of the Mary Lyon Foundation’s Pat Kerrins Community Service Award in 2010, Massachusetts Medical Society’s Franklin District Community Clinician Award in 2008, and Franklin Medical Center’s Medical Staff Leadership Award in 2007.
Dr. Kemble grew up in Connecticut and has lived in Western Massachusetts for the last 30 years. She lives with her husband and two teenage children in Leyden, MA. She enjoys road biking and skiing, and plays second violin in the Windham Orchestra in Brattleboro, VT.
“Having lived through state health care reform in Massachusetts, I have aspired to live and practice in Vermont for several years. I am delighted to join the Chester Family Medicine practice and look forward to getting to know the patients and community in the coming years,” comments Dr. Kemble.
